mangia hoboken

a rule worth breaking: avoid dairy and white flour

mangia hoboken – the hoboken food tour. what a blast. we drove up there today and met a bunch of awesome strangers outside the path station. we walked the whole town (one square mile). our stops included:

antique bakery (bread), dom’s bakery (bread), fiore’s house of quality (mozzarella), lisa’s (mozzarella and sandwiches), vito’s (mozzarella), benny tudino’s pizzeria (the biggest pizza i have ever seen), empire coffee & tea co (mexican chili frozen hot chocolate)

we do a lot of kissing of cheeks

we ate a ton of mozzarella, and got to watch them make it, and then eat it right out of the hot water. simply amazing.

milk, hot water, salt, unbelievably good

on a personal note, we found the fact that the entire family works under one roof very encouraging – proof it can be done.

i recommend taking a trip to hoboken on a saturday and taking this tour. we had so much fun. we came home with about four bags of food.

bread, bread, bread, cannolis, coffee, tea, sandwiches, and more bread. oh yeah, and a t-shirt for matt.
